What are the standard pet boarding procedures?

At the Animal Clinic of Council Bluffs, standard pet boarding procedures dictate we work on a reservation basis. You call us ahead of your trip to reserve your spot in line. Availability is limited since we only have so much room to board pets at our facility. That’s why we recommended reserving your spot sooner rather than later.

What are the benefits of boarding a pet with a professional veterinary service?

There are many benefits to choosing to board your pet here at the Animal Clinic of Council Bluffs. Dogs and cats have separate dwelling quarters to curb aggression. Our vets are trained to care for pets with preexisting conditions, keeping them up-to-date on their medications or other treatments. The same goes for older pets. In short, you know your pet is in capable hands.

How will my pet be provided for during my trip?

We provide for pets daily, several times a day. Cats are given their own dwelling quarters with other cats, as mentioned. Our vets will watch to see that they’re making waste and eating normally.

Dogs also get their own quarters. Our staff will take them out for 10 or 15 minutes at a time for walks thrice each day. All pets are fed and given clean water earlier and later in the day. If your pet has special dieting needs or must use the bathroom more frequently, we will work with you to make it happen.

What if I have to cancel?

If you must cancel, we require as much advance notice as possible. Seven days is appreciated. If not, you may be charged a cancelation fee up to $50.
